The Dodge/Jefferson Co. Beekeepers Association is again sponsoring a “Baking with Honey” contest at the Dodge County Fair held August 19-23. The 2015 category is cookies. Cash prizes will be awarded for 1st – $25; 2nd – $15; and 3rd – $10. Each entry must include the recipe on a 3×5 card, using a minimum of 1/2 cup honey as the sweetener. The honey must be from a local beekeeper with his/her name listed on the recipe card. No commercial mixes. Entry must not need refrigeration. Recipes will become the property of the Dodge/Jefferson Co. Beekeepers. All entries must be postmarked by August 10. The “Baking with Honey” contest can be found on page 76 of the Dodge County Open Class Fair Book. Fair books can be found at area banks, grocery stores, and the Dodge County UW-Extension Office.
