2019 Honey Queen Crowned

Holley Schwartz, daughter of Greg and Tracy Schwartz of Watertown, was recently crowned for a second year as the 2019 Dodge/Jefferson County Honey Queen. Holley is a homeschooled student and member of the Watertown Badgers 4-H Club. As the 2018 Dodge/Jefferson County Honey Queen, Holley gave honey and beekeeping presentations throughout the two counties in classrooms, at agriculture events, farm markets, and at the Dodge County Fair. In 2017 Holley was a participant in the Youth in Beekeeping program where she learned how to manage a hive and harvest honey. Now in her third year of beekeeping, she currently manages 5 bee hives and works for High Meadow CSA (a community supported agriculture farm) in Johnson Creek and at the Katherine Holle House Bed & Breakfast in Watertown. Holley will be attending Fox Valley Technical College in the fall. The Honey Queen serves as an ambassador to the local beekeeping industry and promotes the use of honey in Dodge and Jefferson counties. Additional sponsors of the local honey queen program include Sandra D’s of Watertown.
