The Dodge-Jefferson Beekeeper’s Association is proud to sponsor the first annual Best Baking with Honey contest during the 2012 Dodge County Fair (8/12-8/18).
Honey is an excellent addition to baked goods and is available locally. Recipes will be limited to those which incorporate honey. This year’s recipes will all be bars or cookies.
Cash prizes will be awarded as follows:
- 1st Place – $25 cash
- 2nd Place – $15 cash
- 3rd Place – $10 cash
Rules:
- Each entry must include the recipe printed on a 3″ x 5″ card.
- Honey must be the used as the principal sweetener with a minimum of 1/2 cup used.
- Honey must be purchased locally and the entrant must include the name of the producer on the card with the recipe. There will be no commercial or grocery store honey accepted.
- Recipes may not contain commercial mixes (e.g. store bought bar, cookie, or cake mixes).
- Entry cannot require refrigeration.
- Judges’ results will be final. Judges will be the 2012 Dodge County culinary judge(s).
