Honey Almond Butter Cookies

Ingredients

  •   1 1/4 cup ground almond
  •   1 cup whole wheat flour
  •   1 cup flour
  •   1 tsp. baking powder
  •   1/2 tsp. salt
  •   2/3 cup honey, plus 1/4 cup honey
  •   1/3 cup canola oil
  •   4 T butter
  •   1 egg
  •   1 tsp. vanilla
  •   Sliced almonds – optional
DirectionsCombine almonds,   flours, baking powder and salt. Set aside.

In mixing bowl,   combine 2/3 cup honey and 3 T. butter, mix well. Add egg and vanilla and mix   well. Add dry ingredients and mix.

Refrigerate dough 1   hour.

Preheat oven to 350   degrees.

Roll dough into 1   inch balls and make a small indent into each ball. Bake 7-9 minutes. Cool.   Fill indention with 1/4 cup honey and 1 T. butter mixture.

Top with sliced almonds.
