Wally and Lois Nass were named Beekeepers of the Year for their dedication to the promotion and education of beekeeping and honey in Dodge and Jefferson counties. New members Steve and Robin Drajeske were presented with an award in recognition of their service to the beekeeping club in 2014. Honey Princess Mary Haecker presented a scrapbook of her yearlong promotion activities and was awarded a monetary scholarship check from the club. Election of officers was also held.
The Dodge/Jefferson Co. Beekeepers meet every 2nd Sunday of the month at 1pm at St. Michael’s Church Hall. In addition to a monthly business meeting, topics on beekeeping and honey are presented to members following a potluck lunch. The association promotes the use of honey and hive products, as well as fellowship and networking opportunities with fellow beekeepers and the agriculture industry at large.
