The Dodge/Jefferson County Beekeepers Association is pleased to sponsor Anton Bednarski and Emily Weber as the Youth in Beekeeping recipients for 2016. Each youth recently received and installed a package of bees to care for during the beekeeping season. They are assigned mentors to assist them with their beekeeping experience and were introduced to club members on April 10. Anton Bednarski, son of Dennis and Karen Bednarski of rural Watertown,  is a 7th grader at Dodgeland School and a member of Dodgleand FFA. He is interested in honey bee pollination and honey production. Emily Weber, daughter of Jeff and Becky Weber of Helenville, is a 10th grader at Lakeside Lutheran High School and a member of Lakeside FFA and Jefferson County 4-H.  Emily’s goal is to produce honey and learn about products from the hive to supplement her experience in land ethics and business profitability. The applicants were selected by the Dodge/Jefferson Co. Beekeepers Association as a part of the group’s promotion and educational initiatives for youth interested in beekeeping. For more information about the Dodge/Jefferson Co.
